Aberfoyle, Gateway to the Trossachs

  • Departure Monday, 03 June 2019
  • Return Friday, 07 June 2019
  • No. of nights 4

Less than an hour from Glasgow, yet a million miles away from the bustle of the city, it is Aberfoyle that is considered the gateway to the lochs and forests of the Trossachs. The secret majesty of the area was revealed by Sir Walter Scott, whose 1810 poem, The Lady Of The Lake, featured the Lake Of Monteith, Scotland’s only lake.

The splendours of Loch Katrine, Callender, Historic Stirling and Loch Lomond are all within easy striking distance, and the hotel is an ideal centre for touring the Trossachs, Perthshire and the Highlands.

The Rob Roy Hotel

Perfectly situated at the gateway to

the Trossachs, the Rob Roy Hotel is

set in its own grounds, one mile from

the picturesque village of Aberfoyle.

The main building houses the lounge,

bar and dining room, which is used

for entertainment 3 or 4 nights per

week. There is a second restaurant

serving a la carte meals.

The 103 bedrooms are all ‘non

smoking’ and are situated in separate

buildings adjacent to the hotel on 2

floors, served by a lift.

Most rooms have shower (some with

bath) and WC, central heating, colour

TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
