Aberfoyle, Gateway to the Trossachs

  • Departure Monday, 25 June 2018
  • Return Friday, 29 June 2018
  • No. of nights 4

Less than an hour from Glasgow, yet a million miles away from the bustle of the city, it is Aberfoyle that is considered the gateway to the lochs and forests of the Trossachs. The secret majesty of the area was revealed by Sir Walter Scott, whose 1810 poem, The Lady Of The Lake, featured the Lake Of Monteith, Scotland’s only lake.

The splendours of Loch Katrine, Callender, Historic Stirling and Loch Lomond are all within easy striking distance, and the hotel is an ideal centre for touring the Trossachs, Perthshire and the Highlands.

The Rob Roy Hotel

The Rob Roy Hotel is wonderfully situated in idyllic countryside at the gateway to the glorious Trossachs and is set within Scotland’s first National Park.

The hotel is a short stroll along the banks of the Forth River to the picturesque village of Aberfoyle where you will find Scottish made Arts, Crafts and Clothing, and 3 Visitor Centres.

A lounge menu offering freshly produced local food is available throughout the day in the Thistle Bar, and the Tartan Room is an excellent spot for lunch or an evening meal, whilst The Ballroom hosts a popular Dinner Dance most Saturdays throughout the year.

There are 99 en-suite bedrooms, all non-smoking and with television, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.
